Electronics » Z80 Laptop Project... Demos
Here's some clips of the graphics demos I've coded - click the pics to play/download the videos.
(They're xvid .avi files). On the V4Z80P, the demos run at full PAL frame rate
(of course!) but the capture process has reduced that to 25fps on the clips available here...
 Vector Balls Video (TV cap)
|
Vector Balls Demo:
The V4 graphics engine can display 56 256-colour sprites without any
multiplexing so a I thought a simple vector ball demo would be an ideal test.
(Ah, 8 bit maths and a CPU with no multiply instructions, good old look-up
tables:) Video was captured from the TV screen.. Click
here to see it running on the internal LCD panel instead.
Dual Playfield + Sprites (TV cap)
|
V4 Boing Demo:
This second demo shows the 256 colour dual playfield tile maps, with sprites between. Little
raster time is actually used here - 90% of the CPU time is in fact free. Direct cap from
composite source this time - I built an RGB-to-Composite video converter based around the
AD725 chip, still only 25fps though..)
